Where are you located?
We are located on a small ranch in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. As German Shepherd Dog Breeders we know space is an important factor in the quality of our dogs lives and our ranch setting provides our dogs with this space.
Are your puppies and parent dogs health tested?
Yes, as a responsible German Shepherd dog breeder we believe it is imperative that puppies and parent dogs receive appropriate health screening. Our adults are screened for hip and elbow health prior to breeding. Puppies are also evaluated by a vet prior to joining your family. Are you a large scale breeder?
At River Bend we intentionally breed on a small scale. As a German Shepherd Dog Breeder small scale breeding allows us to prioritize the health and needs of every individual puppy. Our parent dogs are a part of our family and are treated like family. Our goal is not to grow indefinitely but to raise healthy happy puppies that are properly prepared to join your family. We believe this happens best through small scale breeding where each dog is able to receive the individual care and attention they need. Do you offer working line and show line German Shepherds?
We breed working line German Shepherds. While our German Shepherds are bred with the intention of being a healthy, long lived, loyal family companion we believe working line German Shepherds are best suited for this job largely due to the emphasis placed on physical health in working line breeding. As a German Shepherd dog breeder it is our responsibility to emphasize the positive hereditary traits of the breed and mitigate characteristics that harm the breed’s genetic integrity. How do I reserve a puppy from a litter?

We ask for a deposit to reserve your puppy and will want to know your gender preference for your new puppy. As a small scale German Shepherd Dog Breeder we strive to provide excellent communication with our customers. One-on-one customer calls and interactions are important to us. Puppies are able to join your family at 8 weeks old. This can be an exciting time for you and your family and we want to celebrate with you before and after you bring your puppy home! How do I prepare for my new puppy?
Schedule a vet visit for your new puppy. We recommend scheduling your puppy’s first vet visit for within three days of your puppy’s arrival home. Veterinarians are an excellent resource for any of your medical puppy questions and can get you started on proactive care for your puppy’s health. When bringing home your new fur baby it is a great idea to puppy proof your home by putting away any breakable or chewable items.
As a German Shepherd dog breeder we also recommend you purchase a good crate and quality puppy food for your new pup prior to picking him or her up.
